To enable this setting, add this code snippet to your theme functions.php file:\ \ `add_filter('enable_experimental_features/crop_mode', '__return_true' );` {% endhint %} ### Resize without cropping (default) This option will resize the image to fit within the selected size such as a "WooCommerce thumbnail" while maintaining the aspect ratio of the original image. This option will not cut off any parts of the image, so if the original image's aspect ratio is different from the selected size, there may be white space around the edges of the image. For example, if you have a rectangular image and you select a square size, the image will be resized to fit within the square size while keeping the rectangular shape, which means there will be white space on the top and bottom of the square. ### Resize with cropping This option will resize the image to fit within the selected size such as a "WooCommerce thumbnail") by cutting off parts of the image that exceed the selected size, while maintaining the aspect ratio of the original image. This means that parts of the original image may be cut off to make the image fit within the selected size. [Conditional Add to Cart](https://condicart.com/): Control exactly when and how the "Add to Cart" appears — based on rules you define. # Images Don't Resize This article will help you perform some checks to determine why images don't resize. ### Bulk resize existing images If you already uploaded images to media library, make sure you resize existing by [following these steps.](/getting-started/usage) ### Low Server Resources Resizing and trimming are resource-intensive tasks especially when processed images are large, make sure: * In the plugin settings (under *WooCommerce menu → Smart Image Resize)*, select only sizes prefixed by **woocommerce\_** in the *Sizes* option. * You increase server `memory_limit` to at least `512M`. (Recommended `1024M` ) ### Purge Cache Make sure you: * clear your browser cache * purge any caching plugin if present * purge CloudFlare cache if present ### Uploading Images Through WP REST API \[Advanced] Images uploaded trough WP REST API using the route `/wp/v2/media` are not resized by default. Type the command `nohup wp media regenerate --yes` followed by **`&`** ```bash $ nohup wp media regenerate --yes & ``` This will run regeneration in the background and print the process identifier number of the job: ```bash [1] 22699 ``` To view regenerated thumbnails log, type: ```bash $ cat nohup.out ``` To list running jobs, type the command `jobs` ```bash $ jobs ``` The output will be similar to this: ```bash [1]+ Running nohup wp media regenerate --yes & ``` To stop regeneration, use the command `kill` and the job number in `[1]+` ```bash $ kill %1 ``` **Note**: If you ended the terminal session, you will need to use the command `ps -eaf | grep wp` instead of `jobs` to list running jobs: ```bash ps -eaf | grep wp ``` The output will be similar to: ```bash 501 22699 22389 0 3:19PM ttys000 0:00.14 wp media regenerate --yes ``` To terminate the job process, use the identifier number to terminate it: ```bash kill 22699 ``` # How to increase the PHP Memory Limit in cPanel 1.
